Entry Fees

  • ISHMPR members pay $75 per entry.
  • Non-members pay $160 per entry.
  • Checks should be made payable to: ISHMPR

To qualify for discounted "member" entry fee, 2010 membership must have been paid by June 1, 2010.

Eligibility

This annual competition is open to all hospitals, healthcare systems, health-related organizations, agencies and freelance professionals located in Illinois. All agencies (within Illinois and out-of-state) should submit their entries on behalf of the Illinois healthcare organization(s) they represent. ISHMPR members may enter projects with the assistance of outside agencies as long as the member played a role in the development and implementation of the project.

Entry Period and Categories

Eligible projects must have been completed and/or implemented between May 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.

There are 27 award categories in the 2010 Pinnacle Awards Program, including new categories of Animation, Marketing on a Shoestring Budget, Corporate Identity/Brand Management, Fund-Raising, Issue Management and Physician Relations and Recruiting.

Select the category that best fits the project. A stand-alone entry may also be entered in a more comprehensive category. Example: Television advertisement may be entered in the Television Advertising category, and then also incorporated into an entry for the Integrated Marketing Campaign. A separate entry form and project description must be submitted for each entry.

Packaging Your Entry

Please note - Two notebooks are needed for each entry! Each entry should be packaged separately in a binder notebook with a clear insert pocket on the front cover. Two copies of the Project Summary must be submitted along with two copies of the 2010 Pinnacle. Staple a copy of the Project Summary to the Entry Form.

 

The Project Summary

Include a concise summary to introduce your project to the judges. Include the following:

  1. Objective:  Provide a brief description of the entry, including its purpose and intended audience. Include any research done to help identify the need for this project.
  2. Implementation:   Brief description of the project strategy, the plan for circulation/distribution, the techniques, tools and other resources used to achieve the project's objectives. Please include the total cost of the project.
  3. Results/Evaluation:  Brief description of the how the objectives were achieved and measured. (if applicable)
  4. Cost:   Include total cost of project and any additional explanation regarding appropriate use of resources or approaches to contain cost.
  5. Project Team:  Include the names of other agencies, vendors or people who helped with the project.

Labeling Audiovisuals and Support Materials

Audiovisual and support materials must be submitted on a CD and/or DVD. Label each item with name, organization and category entered and secure it inside the envelope.

Packaging of Audiovisuals and Support Materials for Awards Presentation

Each year during the Awards Presentation, ISHMPR presents an audiovisual presentation of the winning entries. In order to facilitate this presentation:

  1. Include a CD containing a PDF file(s) of any printed entries.  Label the CD and/or include a printed directory of the CD with the Organization Name, Entry Category and Title of Entry.
  2. Include a DVD containing electronic files of any audio, video or Web-based entries.  Label the DVD and/or include a printed directory of the Organization Name, Entry Category(s) and Title of Entry(s).
  3. Package the CD(s) and DVD(s) in a 9x12 envelope. Mark the envelope with Organization Name; Entry Category(s); and Title of Entry(s).


The Pinnacle Awards Committee will disqualify any entry not prepared to specifications. The Pinnacle Awards Committee reserves the right to reclassify any entry determined to be entered in a wrong category. Entry fees will not be refunded. Materials will not be returned. ISHMPR may retain entries for display purposes, including posting at www.ishmpr.org.

Awards

Awards of Excellence, Awards of Merit and Honorable Mention Certificates will be given in each Award category by hospital size: 100 beds or less; 101-299 beds; 300 or more beds.
