Join your peers April 3rd and 4th at beautiful Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center east of LaSalle for the You May Unplug Now Spring 2006 ISHMPR conference and enter The Decompression Zone. This day and a half conference is intended to help you disconnect from the office and reconnect to your profession.
We’ve heard from many of our members who say the pressure to work faster and accomplish more is the expectation and the workload is overwhelming. This your chance to share with all of us just what drives you crazy and pushes your buttons, all in a safe, friendly and relaxing environment. And, it’s your chance to learn a great deal from your peers and return to work refreshed.
You talk my talk.
We’ve got break-out sessions for professionals in the same field. Let’s face it, graphic designers don’t really care how planners come up with their numbers, and writers don’t worry themselves with whether the sun shines for the outdoor VIP event. This session gives you the time to better know your peers, and exchange email addresses for later use so when you’re stuck in a bind, you’ll know who to call.

You May Unplug Now will feature “show and tell” sessions in which professionals can bring their favorite projects and pieces and explain why it worked so well. If possible, bring 10 copies for sharing. Bring your flops and give us your valuable insight, too.

This one-of-a-kind conference will feature an exciting and interactive networking session in which there will be an abundance of free exchange of ideas.

A long-time favorite is back. Pinnacle award winners will share the ins and outs of their projects with lots of time for questions and answers.

We know you’ll want a little meat with those potatoes so we invited some dynamic speakers who will address two distinct areas – with “In the Hot Seat,” a health reporter will help you help your CEO or spokesperson prepare for interviews – always putting your best foot forward; and with “The Ps and Qs,” discover what it takes to make good planners into great planners as they pay attention to making a sound environmental assessment.
