Heart Smart for Women Changes Lifestyle Behaviors

A free program intended to teach women simple and personalized strategies for increasing daily physical activity and improving eating habits for a lifetime is being offered in Coles and Edgar counties.

Heart Smart for Women is a free 13-week program offering personal coaching, fun weekly meetings, educational materials, incentives and long-lasting health improvements to women. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

The program is 9 to 10 a.m., beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Edgar County Public Health Department, Paris; 1 to 2 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Coles County Public Health Department in Charleston; and 5 to 6 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education.

Lori Richardson, Sarah Bush Lincoln exercise physiologist, who will be leading the program, encourages any woman who struggles with staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle to call and inquire about the program.
