Silver Cross Wins State Marketing/PR Awards

The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) honored Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet with four Pinnacle Awards at its 2006 Annual Fall Meeting and Awards Luncheon held Oct. 6 in Chicago. Each year ISHMPR sponsors the Pinnacle Awards to recognize excellence and achievement in healthcare marketing and public relations. This year’s program included over 120 entries in 21 project categories.

Under the direction of Tracy Simons, Director of Community Relations/Marketing, Silver Cross received highest honors, an Award of Excellence, in the Audio/Visual category for its video tribute to the 2005 Silver Cross Sehring Medal of Excellence recipient-Keyton Nixon. The five-minute video was shown at the annual Childerguild Ball, which benefits women’s and children’s services at Silver Cross Hospital. This year’s event will be held Dec. 9 at Bolingbrook Country Club. Irving Rudman, M.D., retired surgeon, is this year’s Sehring Medal of Excellence recipient.

“Entries earning the Pinnacle Award of Excellence typically stand out as having achieved top ratings in each of the three judging areas - planning, implementation and results,” said Lynn Woller, ISHMPR president. “The winning Pinnacle Award entries demonstrate a true dedication to quality and pride in project work,” she added.

The hospital was also awarded Certificates of Merit for its Star Surgeon advertising campaign, “Your Personal Guided Tour” booklet mailed to residents new to the area, and “One of the Top 100 Hospitals Committed to the Silver Cross Experience” article published in the Feb. 17, 2006 issue of the Herald News.
