Rush-Copley Medical Center Joins PAHL Program

Rush-Copley Medical Center, along with four other Illinois hospitals, has joined the Peer Assistance and Health Care Leadership (PAHL) program. PAHL was developed for health care providers in the SCIP6 (Surgical Care Improvement Project) states (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) to share successful quality improvement methodologies via e-mail, telephone and online. The PAHL program serves as a platform for hospitals to interact through education and collaboration with out-of-state hospitals regarding SCIP.

SCIP is a national quality partnership of organizations focused on improving surgical care by significantly reducing surgical complications. The focus of SCIP6 is to support the national SCIP project by accelerating improvements in surgical care through a forum of learning, sharing information, and promoting best practices and system improvements on a local and regional level.

Rush-Copley was partnered with Healthcare Excel in Kentucky and is committed to sharing ideas, resources and efforts and ways to improve processes. “We are very pleased that Rush-Copley has decided to join the PAHL program. We are excited about the response to the program in such a short amount of time. Illinois Foundation for Quality Health Care (IFQHC) continues to look for ways to provide education and guidance to our participating SCIP hospitals,” said Illinois Foundation for Quality Health Care’s Quality Improvement Consultant Mari Baran, RN, BSN.
