Nursing contact hours will be available for participants.

Often, medical treatment protocols may need to be slightly altered to accommodate the needs of disabled persons and this all-day workshop is designed to address some of the needs that are commonly seen.

CCHCC organized the Disability Rights Task Force in 2004 to work for improving the quality of health care available to people with disabilities in our community. The Task Force is led by community members with disabilities who are working to educate the community and health care providers about the rights of people and patients with disabilities, the need for proper training among
medical personnel to work with people with disabilities, as well the need for facilities and medical equipment (for example, exam tables and mammography equipment) to be accessible to people with disabilities. Ultimately, the Task Force hopes to see all health care facilities in our community become fully accessible while being committed to, and capable of providing, “patient-centered” care to all patients, including people with disabilities.

Provena Covenant Medical center is committed to building communities of healing and hope by compassionately responding to human need in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
