FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rush-Copley Recognized in 2008 Best Nursing Team Awards
Aurora, IL – The med/surg/telemetry team at Rush-Copley Medical Center, has been recognized by ADVANCE for Nurses magazine as a runner-up in the magazine’s 2008 “Best Nursing Team Contest” for the greater Chicago and metro areas of Wisconsin and Indiana.
“Rush-Copley’s med/surg/telemetry team is honored to receive this award,” said Shawn O’Connor Tyrrell, R.N., MSN, Vice President, Nursing Services and Chief Nursing Officer for Rush-Copley. “This recognition validates Rush-Copley’s commitment to providing outstanding patient care and acknowledges the teamwork that goes into serving our patients.”
In celebration of National Nurses Week, May 6-12, ADVANCE honors nurses in the spirit of teamwork, initiative and adaptability.

Dozens of nursing teams from across the region submitted entry forms. A panel of three judges evaluated the entries by awarding scores in categories such as initiative, adaptability, teamwork, recruitment/retention and knowledge.
