FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ISHMPR announces Pinnacle Award winners
The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) honored marketing, public relations and communications professionals from across the state at its 2005 Annual Fall Meeting and Pinnacle Awards Luncheon Monday (Oct. 10) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Educational sessions in the morning were followed by the highlight of the event, announcement of the 2005 Pinnacle Award winners. Nearly 50 Certificates of Merit and Awards of Excellence were presented. This year’s Best of Show Award was presented to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System (Mattoon) for its entry, “Massage Therapy Services” advertising campaign. Each year ISHMPR sponsors the Pinnacle Awards to recognize excellence and achievement in healthcare marketing and public relations. This year’s program included 103 entries in 21 project categories. Entries are judged on their own merit in accordance with established criteria for project planning, implementation and overall results. A point system for meeting the evaluation criteria determines the level of award, either a Certificate of Merit or Award of Excellence. The Pinnacle Award of Excellence requires that entries receive 93 or more points out of a possible 100. “Entries earning the Pinnacle Award of Excellence typically stand out as having achieved top ratings in each of the three judging areas – planning, implementation and results,” said Lynn Woller, ISHMPR president. “The winning Pinnacle Award entries demonstrate a true dedication to quality and pride in project work,” she added. Project categories include advertising, annual reports, audio-visual presentation, community newsletter, direct mail, employee newsletter, individual achievement, patient literature, photography, physician newsletter, print advertising, radio advertising, public relations projects, special events, television advertising, total campaign, web site and writing. The Best of Show Award is given to the healthcare organization and entry that best displays overall excellence in project planning, implementation and results. “This year’s judges were most impressed with the variety of work accomplished by our members, along with the level of skill in presentation and the benefits accrued by Illinois healthcare organizations through implementation of the projects,” Woller said.
