AHA Advisory: Coping with upcoming 60 Minutes segment and Michael Moore
Increased attention is being paid by the media, government and advocacy groups to hospital billing policies, as well as issues like the uninsured, executive compensation and tax-exempt status. The CBS television network’s newsmagazine “60 Minutes” soon will air a segment focusing on hospital charges and billing practices.
In addition, controversial filmmaker Michael Moore is working on a documentary entitled “Sicko” that will focus in part on patients who filed for bankruptcy because of medical debt.
