Pinnacle Awards: 2009 Call for Entries

If you’re like most of your peers throughout the state, you’ve had a very busy and challenging year. The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) wants to see your best work. Pull out your “winning combinations” and submit them for competition in the annual Pinnacle Awards.

July 31 is the entry deadline for the 2009 Pinnacle Awards Program.

An Award of Excellence and Award of Merit will be given in each of 22 award categories in three divisions: hospitals with 100 or fewer beds; those with 101-299 beds; and hospitals with 300 or more beds. In addition to the Award of Merit and Award of Excellence, ISHMPR will also award Honorable Mention to all qualifying entries. The Best of Show Award will be presented to the organization with the most outstanding entry among all entries submitted.

The Pinnacle Awards annual competition is open to all hospitals, healthcare systems, health-related organizations, agencies and freelance professionals located in Illinois or completing assignments for Illinois-based healthcare organizations. Eligible projects must have been completed and/or implemented between May 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.

ISHMPR has identified 22 award categories that exemplify the type of work healthcare marketing, public relations and communication professionals perform every day across the State of Illinois. "Our Pinnacle Awards program is designed to give recognition to healthcare professionals who often spend their time recognizing others," said ISHMPR President Jim McRoberts, director of Volunteer Services & Marketing at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. "Being recognized by your peers provides a great sense of accomplishment and personal gratification. We hope healthcare professionals across the state take advantage of this opportunity and enter their work in several categories."

The 22 award categories range from individual radio, newspaper and television advertisements, to newsletters and annual reports, Websites, writing, photography and E-marketing, direct mail and integrated marketing campaigns. Entries are judged on their concept, creativity, cost-efficiency and generated results.

Entries for the 2009 Pinnacle Awards Program must be postmarked or include a shipment date of Friday, July 31. Winners will be notified in October. All winners will be recognized at the ISHMPR Annual Meeting to be held Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at the Illinois Hospital Association’s offices in Springfield and Naperville. The meeting will be connected via satellite with presenters at both locations to help participants with travel expenses.
